Detoxification and Weight Loss
Detoxification is very often used in the weight loss programs. Some weight loss programs are completely based on detoxification but I don’t think this is a correct approach to weight loss. While you can lose weight while on a detoxification program, as soon as you go back to your old lifestyle you will gain all that lost weight. That’s why do not rely on detoxification programs for your weight loss goals.
However detoxification should be an important part of any healthy weight loss program. Our unhealthy eating habits caused the accumulation of toxins in the body. Toxic waste that is deposited in our intestines can weigh lots of pounds! So only by clearing the body of toxins we could shed some pounds. And then we should continue with the healthy diet and exercise to ensure the continuation of the weight loss process. Healthy diet and exercise will also stop toxins from accumulating in the body and contribute to general health and well-being.
There are different types of detoxification programs. There are juice fasting programs, mono-diets, one-day water fasting and some more vigorous, several day fasting programs. It is better to start with “milder” detoxification programs.
